I just ended a relationship that I felt God telling me to sever for a very long time. I tried so many times to maintain the relationship and justify the wrong that we were doing. We had a history with one another. So you can imagine the thoughts that were helping to continue to justify why I should stay in the relationship. About a month and a half ago I finally cut an unhealthy relationship out of my life after 4 or 5 times of going back and forth leaving him and getting back together with him. I started dating him a little over a year ago and to make an extremely long story short, over the course of time that I dated him there were a lot of red flags that I saw. From this single relationship and choices that I made I fell into sin, felt guilt and shame, was verbally abused, manipulated, felt far away from God, my confidence and self-esteem decreased. I experienced anxiety, depression, insomnia, unforgiveness mainly towards myself, and pretty much wore a “mask” on my face hiding everything that was going on in the inside. There are things that I never told anybody and only brought to God as I prayed and continually read His Word. There were so many times that I would just drop to my knees and cry out to God as my worship music played in the background. It was as if this nightmare was never going to end.

Then one night I went on Youtube and I can’t 100% remember what I typed but I think it may have been soul ties and I clicked on your video. I had never heard about you or listened to your sermons. That night was the beginning of the road of transformation that God had set before me. I watched each of those videos in that one sitting, and I started to feel my heaviness begin to lift off of me. As days and days went by, I continued to watch your other podcasts and began taking notes and applying them to my life. I meditated on your messages and the Scriptures that you referenced. I felt such a connection with you and from hearing your own testimonies really felt like you understood what I was going through. Shortly after this, I got the strength to end the relationship. God started to confirm a lot of things to me about how I had been so deceived by the enemy. God did such an inner healing in me and restored everything that was broken. I was also able to finally forgive myself, leave my past behind, and later that guy and I forgave one another. -Alanna
